The New Curriculum for Evington Valley 2014
Evington Valley is pleased to present its new curriculum commencing Autumn term 2014 in line with Government statutory guidance.
Our curriculum consists of the new National Curriculum developed by the Government, including the core subjects English, Maths and Science. It also includes RE and a daily act of collective worship. In addition our new curriculum will include the foundation subjects of Art and Design, Computing, Design and Technology, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education and a Foreign Language.
Evington Valley has devised an exciting, engaging topic approach to deliver the new curriculum. Where possible, learning is linked across subjects so that children can relate skills, knowledge and concepts to real life experiences. The school operates a two year cycle of topics to ensure breadth of learning and variety for our vertically grouped classes. During 2014-15 we will follow the Cycle 1 curriculum and during 2015-16 we will teach the Cycle 2 curriculum. This is an evolving curriculum and we will continue to update units of work on a regular basis.
We would welcome feedback from parents about the new curriculum at parent meetings and in our annual Parent Questionnaire form.
