Evington Valley Primary School
The school’s most recent Ofsted inspection was in December 2012, when the school was judged to be Good. The report noted that:
* achievement is good and improving
* pupils are keen to learn and relate well to each other
* adults successfully create a secure and positive climate for learning, which promotes pupils’ self-confidence and good behaviour, in and around the school.
The report also says:
“Teachers and Teaching Assistants are highly skilled and experienced in the teaching of English. Consequently, pupils who speak English as an additional language make good progress.”
“The teaching of phonics is regular and systematic. It contributes to pupils' good progress and rising standards.”
Inspectors acknowledged that school has the capacity to improve further, and the school feels that staff and Governors have the drive and ambition to progress to an Outstanding judgement in the future.
